| east park branch of Jacksons opened in 1912 build is still stand but it is no longer a jacksons shop. at once time dances where held above the shop buckingham street 1920.s a boarding school was built down this street in 1882 ST MARKS STREET Marie Hildyard dicoved this photo of St Marks Street Marie lived now this street until getting married at the bottom os the street is Dansom Lane and you can see Wilde street in the far background many pupils will remember spending their dinner money or pocket money in these shops down St Marks Street |

This photo must have been taken very close to the Brady and Bowens houses. the factory that took up most of the other side of the I think was called Brigham and Gowens. there were a few houses on that side Joey Howe lived in and he was a pal of mine he was not educated at St Marys. One reason for all the air raids around this area was we were situated between the big engineering works and Vicky dock.

these photos have brought lots of memories back to me . i lived down kent street i recall all these things in the pictures . i remember mam and dad taking us to withernsea by train and the lines . the papershop next to the lines became my own for a while then was taken over by my mother dorrie joyce .
